OUR EXPERTISE

John Serafine and Dean Churack have a thorough understanding of the unique nature of media collections. Their remarkable success is a result of their knowledge of the media industry coupled with their keen balance of customer relations and tenacity.

John K. Serafine, President

John has over 40 years in the credit and collection industry. His credentials include employment as vice president/legal collection officer with JPMorgan Chase & Co. and chief operating officer with International Voyager Media, where he started as director of credit and collections.

In each of his positions, John dramatically improved write-off, bad debt, and delinquency rates, producing millions of dollars of incremental profit for each company.

Integral to his success has been John's ability to design effective collection procedures and strategies, write training programs and manuals, design computerized collection systems, and teach collections, both to the collector and executive levels.

While at International Voyager Media, John reduced the bad debt rate of the advertising revenue from over 10% to less than 3% in his first nine months of employment. He established and managed legal collection representation in over 20 destinations in the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico and South America.

Dean A. Churack, Executive Vice President

Dean has more than 30 years of experience in the media industry. He combined his collection experience with his passion for the media industry and launched his career in collections with International Voyager Media.

Dean successfully managed over $20 million in annual media revenue collections and quickly rose to the position of director of credit operations. His responsibilities included restructuring the credit and collection efforts of Mall Marketing Media, a subsidiary with more than $5 million in advertising revenue, establishing procedures that drastically lowered bad debt and days outstanding while increasing the unit's profitability. He also managed the company's Mexico subsidiary, Libros Turisticos de Mexico S. A., and several other regional offices throughout the United States and the Caribbean.

Dean also served as director of credit operations for ABARTA Media Group, publisher of more than 50 of the top city, regional, travel and home-design titles in the country.
